On Labor Day, September 5th, 2022, one of the hottest days on record in California's Sacramento Valley, a series of portraits were taken in a dried-up agricultural field outside Sacramento. A portrait was captured every hour between 9am and 5pm, representing a typical eight-hour American workday, with the temperature recorded for each photograph.
